News Ice Skating Devon YFC hired out the Plymouth pavilions on the 6th for the annual ice skating. Members from all over Devon come down with people of all abilities having an enjoyable evening. A few members of Ivybridge went along and had fun although some of them weren't the best ice skaters. Log Chop The log chop started on the 12th November and with a good amount of members helping, we managed to chop and deliver most loads on the Saturday. We managed to raise around £700 for our charity Help for Hero's and hope to raise even more at our Log chop and Dung run in March. New Members Evening This year our new members evening was lead by three of our leaders, Sandra, Jeremy and Ian. Lots of team building games were played, newspaper costumes made and quite a few doughnuts eaten! We had a few new members join and hope they'll all enjoy all the upcoming events. Dinner and Dance Our Dinner and Dance was held on the 25th November and was well attended by 195 people, from South Dartmoor YFC clubs, leaders and advisory. A good night was had by all. Our guest speaker was Andy Broomfield who gave a very entertaing and humerious speech. Also last years chairman Darryl Cummings gave a lovely speech. Crealy Crealy Adventure Park opened its doors to the Devon YFC on Sunday the 27th, meaning we had a chance to play in the indoor play area and the Crealy coaster was also open. Fun was had by all that attended, despite Ross swallowing a fly while on the roller coaster and quite a few friction burns. Skiing We had 12 members take part in a skiing lesson at the Plymouth ski centre, we had a good evening with no broken bones and was good practice for those going on the YFC ski trip in January. ![]() . |
